The last Kivus & Content shared a teeny bit about my & John’s trip to the UK/Paris for our 10 year wedding anniversary. And now I’ve got photos!!!

May Creation
I made a fair amount of frames on our trip! Let me know if you want the link to the whole gallery - so many more where these came from.
Obviously, the most important creation was my new best friendship with the highland cows we saw. But it was also really fun to try my hand at some street photography - so many props to the photogs who excel at that genre!

Books
Iron Flame was fine. I definitely liked Fourth Wing better, but I’m still curious to see what happens next.
At Typewronger Books in Edinburgh, I picked out a blind date with a book (they called it a Lucky Dip). My selection turned out to be a very fast read and I loved it!
Television
Bridgerton (season 3, part 1) - I was also obsessed with watching carriage scene reactions on the clock app
Hacks (season 3) - I’m only 4 episodes into the season, but if you aren’t watching Hacks, you are missing out! In the conversation for the funniest show of the 20s thus far.
Criminal Record - this is an Apple TV+ crime drama/thriller(?) starring Cush Jumbo & Peter Capaldi. It is very much not a happy show, so maybe cleanse the palate with an episode of Hacks after?
Doctor Who - speaking of actors who’ve played the Doctor, I love Ncuti’s Doctor and Ruby is my kind of companion
Movies
I watched 9, and you can see ratings/reviews on my letterboxd. My thoughts on the three most in the zeitgeist:
Challengers - LOVE. So close to 5 stars. Honestly, it might jump to 5 on a rewatch. Everyone is beautiful and hate-able.
The Idea of You - NOPE. I’m very happy that Annie got a payday but this movie is bad.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - Why they decided to put Fury Road clips in the end credits will flummox me forever. This was a really good movie and I really enjoyed the theater experience, but then they were like “hey, remember we also made this PERFECT movie?”
May in the Kivii Life
Scotland was amazing! London was great, and Scotland was amazing. Paris was nice even though a lot of stuff was already fenced off for the Olympics, and Scotland was amazing. Once more with feeling: SCOTLAND WAS AMAZING. So worth terrifying intercontinental flights. We stayed in a great hotel in Edinburgh and day-tripped out of the city for distilleries and St. Andrews. I want to go back already.
Five words to describe our week there: scotch, parks, walking, books, COWS.
London included a 10 mile run on our actual 10 year anniversary. We made it a running tour of the city’s greatest hits. We went to a lot of vibe-y cocktail bars on the trip, and the best was a place called 42 in Mayfair. Strong recommend!
We crammed a lot into our short time in Paris proper (before we headed to Disneyland Paris), but rest assured there were croissants, baguettes, The Little Prince shop, champagne, and the Eiffel Tower at night.
John added some Disneyland Paris photos on the best site on the internet: Rope Drop [dot] Net.
Aside from our trip and work, the only real Kivii life news from May is that we became and aunt and uncle again! John’s sister has two munchkins, but now there’s a nibling on my side two. My sister and her wife welcomed our nephew Killian on the penultimate day of May, and we get to meet him very soon!
That’s all for May!
